OUT OF AFRICA

Experience the magic of rural Kenya during our Out of Africa Tour

You are picked up by our driver at the reception of your hotel. You will be informed of the pickup time from your hotel at the time of booking. The tour starts at 1.00 pm. You will first drive to Seba Farm. Here, the farm manager welcomes you and shows you how papaya and Piri Piri grow. See and sample some local exotic fruits like mangoes, oranges and lemons and learn how soap is made from local materials.
Afterwards you visit a traditional Giriama Village. “Karibu” means “Welcome”, but is also a greeting, invitation and blessing. The villagers are happy to enlighten you about their local architecture, handcrafts, farming methods and domestic livestock. The village chief welcomes you and gives you a guided tour around the village. He tells you about the daily life at the Giriama Village which gives you a true insight into the Swahili culture and tradition. You will also visit the village school, where you meet teachers and students of different classes.
After visiting the village school, you drive to Nguuni Wildlife Sanctuary and witness a spectacular sunset with giraffes, ostriches and other wild animals at close range. As the sun goes down behind the orchid laden Borasis palms sip, you will enjoy a glass of South African wine and get the “Out of Africa” feeling. A barbeque is served around a campfire as millions of stars appear in the sky. The excursion ends around 09:30 pm and our driver will return you to the hotel.

ARABIAN NIGHT

Experience the authentic Mombasa during our Arabian Night and enjoy a traditional Swahili dinner

You are picked up by our driver at the reception of your hotel. You will be informed of the pickup time from your hotel at the time of booking. Our Arabian Night starts at 05:00 pm and our first location is the impressive Fort Jesus. The 400 year old fortress was built by the Portuguese in 1593 to guard the old port of Mombasa. See the stunning 16th century military architecture of the fort that was won and lost nine times by nations contesting control of the strategic island of Mombasa and the gateway to the “dark continent“.
Afterwards you walk through the narrow streets of the historic old town down to the Old Dhow Harbour (Old Port). Here, you go on board on one of our traditional Arabian dhows named Husna, Takdir and Biladi. Enjoy traditional Swahili music as you cruise through Mombasa’s historic waterfront.
From here, you will have a wonderful view of the old town and the Tudor Creek. Sail further to the Jahazi Marine Jetty, disembark and walk up to our Jahazi restaurant. Enjoy the authentic Swahili dishes complete with Sheesha from the buffet. Traditional belly dancers are the special highlight of the evening. The excursion ends around 09:30 pm and our driver will return you to the hotel.

DISCOVER MOMBASA DHOW SAFARI

Join us on our historical excursion around Mombasa and enjoy a cruise aboard a traditional Arabian dhow

You are picked up by our driver at the reception of your hotel. You will be informed of the pickup time from your hotel at the time of booking. Our excursion around Mombasa starts at 10:30 am.
First, you will visit the imposing stone fortress of Fort Jesus. Built over 400 years ago by the Portuguese as a stronghold at the entrance of the sheltered harbour, which became the gateway to the “Dark Continent”.
The ancient fort is a spectacular example of 16th century Portuguese military architecture that has survived centuries of conquest and attack. Afterwards, a short guided walk through the old town will give you a taste of some of the spectacular Swahili architecture and colourful atmosphere for which the Swahili coast is famous. Your way leads you to Mombasa’s Old Dhow Harbour.
You will go aboard a traditional Arabian Dhow and sail towards the Tudor Creek. Aboard the dhow you will learn the traditional use of the Khanga. You will also meet a traditional herbalist, who will impress you with his knowledge of herbs.
You will disembark at the Jahazi Marine Jetty and visit the Floating Market. A Dhow builder will show you how the traditional Arabian dhows were constructed. Afterwards, traditional belly dancers will welcome you to the restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious lunch. From the restaurant, you have a wonderful view of the Tudor Creek. The excursion ends at around 03:30 pm and our driver will return you to the hotel.

SON ET LUMIERE SHOW

Enjoy the African sunset aboard a traditional Arabian Dhow and experience a memorable evening at Fort Jesus

You are picked up by our driver at the reception of your hotel. You will be informed of the pickup time from your hotel at the time of booking. You are brought to the Jahazi Marine Jetty on Tudor Creek. Your exciting excursion starts at 05:45 pm with a cruise on one of our old Arabian dhows (Husna, Takdir or Biladi). They are a fine example of the traditional cargo carrying boats that used to ply the Indian Ocean trade routes. You will sail into the sunset across the Tudor creek to the Old Port.
Arrive at the old port of Mombasa as merchants, explorers and missionaries did centuries before. A short guided walk through the old town will give you a taste of some of the spectacular Swahili architecture and mysterious atmosphere for which the Swahili coast is famous. As you leave the old town, the imposing stone fortress of Fort Jesus appears. PRIVATE MOMBASA CITY TOUR
Visit Mombasa’s special highlights and get a unique insight of the Swahili culture during your private Mombasa City Tour

In the morning, you are picked up by our driver at the reception of your hotel. You will be informed of the pickup time from your hotel at the time of booking. Our city tour starts at 09:00 am. Mombasa is the second largest city in Kenya with a population of half a million; the city centre is located on an island in the Indian Ocean. The town is heavily influenced by Arabic culture.
During the city tour, you will visit Mombasa’s most important sights. The Mackinon Market is very popular for its Fresh fruits and vegetables sold there daily. You will also visit the Hindu temple, which is beautifully decorated. You will also see the famous “Elephant Tusks” which are Mombasa’s landmark. The tusks were built to commemorate the visit of Queen Elizabeth to the town in 1952, as they lay directly en-route from the port to the town. The road leads you to Fort Jesus. The 400 year old fortress was built by the Portuguese in 1593 to guard the old port of Mombasa. (UNSECO World Heritage Site)
